The Dogwoods of August
I have been meaning to post this report for a couple of weeks. Sometime around the 15th of July, which is by coincidence my sweet wife’s bithday, our largest Dogwood tree began to display an out of season flush of blooms. And, as of today, August 2nd 2012, it is still blooming.
The only part that I may have played in this, is that I have made sure that all of our grass and plants have received adequate water during the drought and heat wave we are having this year. Is our Dogwood a symptom of man made climate change? I don’t know, but I have NEVER heard of a Dogwood tree, here in southern Indiana, blooming in late July or early August before, have you?
