HOOSIER WAR VETS WANT EQUAL RIGHTS ON MEDICAL CANNABIS

I’m a disabled Hoosier Vietnam war vet. I served 8 years active duty Army and 15 months in a combat unit in Vietnam. I suffer from chronic pain from a condition connected to my military service. Two fellow soldiers with whom I served in Vietnam also  ………………………………………….

They are very successfully treated for the pain with prescription marijuana. They get no humiliating threats or arrests, just safe, dignified, effective medical care for war wounds.

Because I reside in Indiana, my only choice for pain relief is expensive prescription opiates, which are addictive, harm my liver, cause constipation and burn my stomach.

I wrote to Governor Holcomb seeking relief for Hoosier war vets on this issue. The Governor responded that his hands are tied, because of federal law, despite the fact that thirty three other states already HAVE legalized medical marijuana.

When I call Congressman Larry Bucshon, his office says it is purely a state issue, by decision of the Supreme Court. The state blames the feds and the feds blame the state.  Somebody is lying. And, the lies are harming those of us Hoosiers, who stepped up to the plate and fought America’s wars.

I just signed a petition asking the Governor and the state legislature to legalize medical marijuana for war vets. If you want to join me it is here: http://bit.ly/2Goi5UA
