Gardening Near New Harmony, Indiana

This year (2014)  is a wonderful year for gardening. Moderate temperatures, rain showers as regular as clock work and sunny warm days between rains. This is as good as it gets for a vegetable gardener. I ask nothing better, just some more healthy years to enjoy it.  For a larger picture of my garden, click the image

I love gardening in New Harmony, Indiana!

We are just beginning to get a few ripe figs from our fig trees, here in New Harmony, Indiana. Gardening feeds the soul and the body. There is always some sort of food in our family garden, 365 days per year. And, always some chores to do there. Some of the food items we produce in our tiny garden are figs, Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, Peaches, Plums, Cherries, Asparagus, Dandelion greens, several types of Lettuce, Green Beans, Lima Beans, Okra, Lamb’s Quarter, Malabar Spinach, Onions, Garlic, New Zealand Spinach, Cucumbers, Kiwis, Tomatoes, Herbs and Spices including Dill, Sage, Cilantro and Parsley. Even in the coldest months of the winter, our garden gives us Turnips and Kale.
